During the last months of school, I plan send an email to Mr. Smithson stating why we need a dance team, and/or meet with Mr. Smithson and Mr. Roberts to discuss starting a dance team at KHS for the following school year. I also plan to finish building my website and adding fun information about dance teams. Mrs. Sutton could help me meet my goal by going over my email and helping me sett up a meeting with Mr. Smithson and Mr. Roberts.

Blog Post #8The authors interpretation of Genius is different from other definitions of Genius. The author describes Genius as "thinking productively not reproductivly." A Genius does not need to be super smart they just need one possible way to solve a problem then think of as many possible ways they can to solve it. They don't need to be an 4.0 student to become a genius. The normal thoughts of someone being a Genius are that they have to be super smart or a 4.0 student.
Genius's are able to look at problems differently and find other ways to solve the problems. Genius's are able to make their thoughts visible to others. By having their strategies in mind, I hope to that i can use them to make my Genius hour better. Blog Post #6: What is your 5 step plan to meet your Genius Hour Goal by May 6th? My first step is to make my website neater so all the information you need will be on my site.
My second step is to locate videos on other high school dances teams and post them to my site and show the school board. My third step is too have my website noticed by other individuals such as students interested in joining the dance team. My fourth step would be to write a letter to the school board stating why we need a dance team and the benefits of having one. My final step is to finalize my project by meeting with the school board and convince them to allow a dance team at our school. AFTER WATCHING KEN ROBINSON'S TED TALK ABOUT EDUCATION, EXPRESS YOUR THOUGHTS ON HOW HIS VIEWS DO/DO NOT RELATE TO THE CONCEPT OF GENIUS HOUR. WHAT ABOUT KEN ROBINSON'S VIEWS DO YOU AGREE/DISAGREE WITH?I agree with what Ken Robinson said about genius hour because genius hour is made to help kids learn in their own way which is more understandable to them and makes it more enjoyable. I think it is a great idea because it gives kids the chance to use their imaginations and not have to worry about being tested on it. They can learn at their own pace and do so with something that they are interested in.
Now that you have taken part in Genius Hour for a whole marking period, how can you relate to the article? Do you agree/disagree with the info in the article? Do you have anything to add to the discussion.I can relate to the article because I know that not all genius will be successful, and I know that my genius hour project is very difficult, but I think that I will be able to succeed. I agree with this article because even if the project itself does not turn out how you planned, as long as you put the effort into it, it is still successful. I do not have anything else to add to the discussion.
What do you predict will be your biggest obstacle? How do you intend to overcome this obstacle?I predict that our biggest obstacle in our project will be getting to know these children personaly. There isn't any children's hospitals near us and that would be a huge obstacle. But to over come these obstacles we plan to email the closest Children's hospital near us and hope they send us lists of things that the children like and enjoy.
Describe what your genius hour project would look like if you could make it the very best it could be.Our genius hour project will be able to help many kids that have deadly diseases that prevent them from encountering in everyday activities. Our objective in this project is to help kids with cancer and other types of diseases live the normal life of a teenager. Many kids in the world are diagnosed at a young age with diseases that prevent them from living a normal life. Some may have to spend there everyday life in the hospital. Our idea helps kids that have to spend there life in hospital get customized baskets to show them that someone out there cares. We want to show the kids that we don't think of them as just ordinary, that each of them is special. That is why each of the baskets is customized to what each child's interests.

Taylor BosleyMy name is Taylor Bosley. I attend Kingsford High School as a 10th grade student. I have recently partnered with my friend Kaitlynn Erickson to create this Genius Hour project. I started dancing when I was in the 1st grade. I followed my dancing career all the way to 7th grade where I had gotten into an incident that had restricted me from dancing. Now I am no longer in dance but envy the people who are. That is why i would like to help Kingsford High School form a dance team. Please support Kaitlynn's and my Genius Hour project. Archives
